President News

Dear Lake Travis High School Community,
Hello Cavalier Nation! My name is Brandye Rocca, and this year will be my second term as your PTO President. We had a fantastic 2017-18, and we look forward to having an even better 2018-19. My connections to LTHS run deep. I graduated from LTHS and I currently have a senior and freshman.  It is my sincere belief that together we can enhance the current learning environment to make a difference for all students at Lake Travis.
The mission of our PTO is to enrich the education of Lake Travis High School students by supporting the school with volunteer and financial assistance while fostering positive and effective relationships between school staff, teachers, and parents. Our PTO Board and Chairs have been working hard over the summer to be fully organized for this upcoming year.  Last year was a huge success! By your donations, we were able to fund and provide programs like: the Homecoming Parade and Extravaganza, Halloween costume contest, Project Graduation support, Student of the Month, All Cavalier Senior Scholarship, Community Connection events, Speaker Series, Cultural Connections, and Welcome Back Events. We supported our teachers through; monthly teacher tokens, monthly themed lunches, Thanksgiving pies, staff Christmas party and Teacher Appreciation Week in May.  We also raised over $46,000 for our Wish List to give back to our teachers and campus! We were only able to do this because of YOU! Our goal this year is to DOUBLE our Wish List! We know this is a lofty goal, but we believe we can achieve it!
The PTO has many different ways in fundraising. To view all ways Click Here. You can join our PTO by becoming a "Friend of the PTO" for $15 annually and receive a LT grocery bag to share school spirit when you are out in the community. Our main way of creating funds is through our No Hassle Fundraiser. You can join or donate online by clicking Donate! No donation is too small or too large.
We are excited to announce that we have a MEGA Monitor. The Mega Monitor is an 86" LG digital signage display that has been installed in the entry foyer of the LTHS main building. This highly visible digital display is the largest display installed anywhere in the district. The PTO will utilize this monitor daily to promote our Community Business Sponsors, allow LTHS clubs and organizations to recognize those who have achieved special accomplishments & give birthday and celebration shout-outs to individual LTHS students. We will have 10 spots a day for you to wish your teenager a Happy Birthday.  You may click Birthday to register your date. If you would like to share your business, club/booster celebration or a personal celebration click Mega Mention for either a ½ or ¼ rotating screen display. We are excited to continue the TRADITION of the Lake Travis High School Parade and Extravaganza, which will be on October 3rd from 5-8:30. Please mark your calendars for this fun spirited event. This is a time for the community to connect with Lake Travis High School and for our student organizations to show off their pride with their floats. There will be business vendors, food trucks, water, a parade, and we will end the night with a pep-rally! GO CAVS! You will not want to miss this Extravaganza! Lastly, COMMUNICATION is crucial to having a positive, successful year. LTHS PTO meetings are great for parents to attend! Attending our meetings allows you to hear from our Principal, faculty, guest speakers, campus officers and to learn all of the new exciting things going on at the campus and with students. For all current and new to LTHS parents and guardians we will be hosting a "Principal Welcoming Event" on September 5th. More details to come.  We are doing our best to give all of the parents as much information as we can to help make your life as a high school parent more enjoyable.

Roles and Responsibilities of the LTHS PTO

The role and responsibilities of the LTHS PTO has, over time, expanded in support of our students and many school community activities and the board recognizes the need for additional volunteer help. With that in mind, the LTHS PTO Board has proposed a motion to amend the PTO By-Laws to add a Membership Chairman and to expand the position for VP of Student Activities to include a Co-Chairman. There will be a Special meeting on Friday, Aug 18th at 9:00 A.M. at the LTHS Annex building room M221.4 to vote. If you are unable to attend in person, you may cast your vote electronically by emailing for your convenience. See the proposed amendment below. Thank you for your support as we serve LTHS. 

ARTICLE VII: Offices and Their Election
Section 3. Election
1.     Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the members present, provided a quorum is present, at the April membership meeting.
2.     Vote shall be by ballot; however, if there is no more than one nominee per office, election may be by voice vote.
3.     Only one person shall be elected into any one office. 

Amendment to Section 3. Election C-- A single office may be shared by two persons, but each office shall have a single vote on the Board. 

ARTICLE VIII: Duties of Officers
NEW Section 8.
The VP of Membership shall: 
plan, coordinate, execute, and track all "Friends of PTO"  of the organization.

History of LT PTO



The Lake Travis High School PTO began operations on May 21, 2012 with an empty bank account and some borrowed procedures.  Since our formation, we have been honing these procedures, fundraising enthusiastically, and spending carefully, to ensure most of our earnings go towards the overall benefit of our students.  We work closely with our campus Principal and are proud of what we have accomplished in such a short time.  And we could not do it without the amazing support we receive from our community:

Welcome to a new year at Lake Travis High School! Please consider becoming a Friend of the LTHS Parent Teacher Organization. There is a one-time donation of $15 per family. Also, please consider making a “NO HASSLE” donation. Funds are used to support students and teachers of LTHS throughout the year. Your support of the PTO helps us provide supplies and equipment to our teachers that they wouldn’t otherwise receive. In 2017-2018, through personal donations and other fundraising efforts, the PTO was able to provide over $46,000 in teacher and campus wish list items as well as awarding a student and staff member each month and providing scholarships for two students. Our goal is to do even more this year!
